Valve typesand valve classifications

Valves have a wide rangeof uses and many types, and the classification of valves has continued toincrease. In order to better understand valve products, Cowinns has advantageon metal seat triple offset butterfly valve and also we can supply classification of common valves. The types of valves are classified according to the actual working conditionson the site. The manufacturer's own selection and special circumstances usedifferent purposes and action principles. There are two main categories:

The first type ofautomatic valve: a valve that relies on the ability of the medium (liquid, gas)to act on its own. Such as check valve, safety valve, regulating valve, trap valve, pressure reducing valve, etc.

The second type of drivevalve: manual, electric, hydraulic, pneumatic to operate the valve, such asbutterfly valves, ball valves, gate valves, globe valves, throttle valves, plugvalves, etc.

At present, the mostcommonly used valve classification methods at home and abroad are as follows:

1. Accordingto the structural characteristics, according to the moving direction of theclosing member relative to the valve seat, it can be divided into:

1 . Gate-shaped: The closing piece moves along thecenter of the valve seat.

2 . Gate shape: The closing piece moves along thecenter of the vertical valve seat.

3 .Plugs and spheres: Closures are plungersor balls that rotate around their own centerline.

4 . Swing shape; the closure rotates around an axisoutside the valve seat.

5 . Dish-shaped: The disc of the closure, which rotatesaround an axis in the valve seat.

6 . Spool type: The closing piece slides in a directionperpendicular to the channel.

7. Hard face triple eccentric butterfly valve

2. Accordingto the driving method, it can be divided according to different drivingmethods:

1 . Electric: driven by a motor or other electricaldevice.

2 . Hydraulic: Driven by (water, oil).

3 .Pneumatic; use compressed air to drivethe valve on and off.

4 . Manual: With the help of hand wheel, handle, leveror sprocket, etc., it is driven by manpower. When transmitting large torque, itis equipped with worm gear, gear and other reduction devices.

3. Accordingto use, it can be divided according to different uses of the valve:

1 . Opening and closing: used to connect or cut off thepipeline medium, such as globe valve, gate valve, ball valve, butterfly valve, etc.

2 . Non-return: used to prevent the medium from flowingbackward, such as a check valve.

3 .Regulating: Used to adjust the pressureand flow of the medium, such as regulating valves and pressure reducing valves.

4 . Distribution: used to change the flow direction ofthe medium, such as three-way cocks, distribution valves, slide valves, etc. 5 . Safety valve: When the medium pressure exceeds thespecified value, it is used to discharge excess medium to ensure the safety ofthe piping system and equipment, such as safety valves and accident valves.

6 . Other special applications: such as traps, ventvalves, blow down valves, etc.

(4) according to the nominal pressure of the valve

(5) Working temperature of valve

[ 1 ] Vacuum valve: less than atmospheric pressure, that is, pressure <0.1MPa

[ 1 ] Normal temperature valve: suitable for medium temperature -40 425 ℃

[ 2 ] Low pressure valve: Nominal pressure PN≤1.6MPa

[ 2 ] High temperature valve: suitable for medium temperature 425 600 ℃

[ 3 ] Medium pressure valve: Nominal pressure PN2.5—6.4MPa

【3 】 Ultra high temperature valve: suitable for medium temperature above 600 ℃

[ 4 ] High pressure valve: Nominal pressure PN10.0-80.0MPa

[ 4 ] Low temperature valve: suitable for medium temperature -40 -150 ℃

[ 5 ] Ultra high pressure valve: Nominal pressure PN≥100.0MPa

[ 5 ] Ultra-low temperature valve: suitable for medium temperature below -150 ℃

(6) According to the nominal diameter of the valve

(7) Connection method by valve

[ 1 ] Miniature valve: Nominal diameter DN1-10mm

[ 1 ] Flange valve: The valve body has a flange, which is connected by a flange

[ 2 ] Small-caliber valve: Nominal diameter DN <40mm

[ 2 ] Threaded valve: valve body with internal or external thread

[ 3 ] Medium-caliber valve: Nominal diameter DN50 ~300mm

[ 3 ] Welded valve: The valve body has a welded joint, which is connected by welding

【4 】 Large caliber valve: Nominal diameter DN350 ~1200mm

[ 4 ] Clamp valve: The valve body has a clamp port, which is connected by a clamp.

[ 5 ] Extra large diameter valve: Nominal diameter DN≥1400mm

[ 5 ] Card sleeve valve: Use card sleeve to connect with pipeline
