Purpose and Structural Features of Wafer Check Valves

I. Purpose of Wafer Check Valves

Check valves are installed in pipeline systems primarily to prevent backflow of media. They are automatic valves that rely on media pressure to open and close. China high pressure dual plate check valve manufacturer has very good experience of wafer check valves ,which are suitable for pipelines with nominal pressures ranging from PN 1.0MPa to 42.0MPa (Class 150–25000), nominal diameters from DN 15 to 1200mm (NPS ? to 48), and operating temperatures from -196°C to 540°C. They are used to prevent media backflow and can be adapted for various media, including water, steam, oil, nitric acid, acetic acid, strong oxidizing agents, and urea, by selecting appropriate materials.

II. Main Materials of Wafer Check Valves

Available materials include carbon steel, low-temperature steel, duplex steel (F51/F55), titanium alloy, aluminum bronze, Inconel (INCONEL), SS304, SS304L, SS316, SS316L, chromium-molybdenum steel, Monel (400/500), 20# alloy, Hastelloy, and other metal materials.

III. Standards and Specifications for Wafer Check Valves

1.Design & Manufacturing: API 594, API 6D, JB/T 8937

2.Face-to-Face Dimensions: API 594, API 6D, DIN 3202, JB/T 8937

3.Pressure & Temperature Ratings: ANSI B16.34, DIN 2401, GB/T 9124, HG 20604, HG 20625, SH 3406, JB/T 74

4.Testing & Inspection: API 598, JB/T 9092

5.Pipe Flanges: JB/T 74–90, GB/T 9112-9124, HG 20592–20635, SH 3406, ANSI B16.5, DIN 2543–2548, GB/T 13402, API 605, ASME B16.47

IV. Structural Features of Wafer Check Valves

1.Short face-to-face length, only 1/4 to 1/8 of traditional flange check valves.

2.Compact and lightweight, weighing only 1/4 to 1/20 of traditional flange check valves.

3.Fast disc closure, minimizing water hammer pressure.

4.Suitable for both horizontal and vertical pipelines, facilitating easy installation.

5.Smooth flow path, reducing fluid resistance.

6.Quick response and excellent sealing performance.

7.Short disc travel, reducing closing impact force.

8.Simple and compact overall structure with an aesthetically pleasing design.

9.Long service life and reliable performance.
